Hautapu Welders is a general engineering shop that specialises in earthmoving Maxi Scoops for farmers and contractors, and who also can do repairs and maintenance and customization on any items you need around the home and farm.

Hautapu Welders was established over 50 years ago by Colin Blackman, to service the local Waikato farming industry. 40 years later, in 1998, Derek Hoyle and his father went into partnership and purchased the company from his uncle Colin. The initial Hautapu Scoop was developed 50 years ago as a concept from American Magazines and adjusted to suit New Zealand conditions. Over the years the scoop design and features have been developed and improved resulting in a quality durable piece of earthmoving equipment. Since Derek has take charge of the business the range of scoops available has grown considerably to the variety that is available today.
